Often, when a person is abused, financial resources are controlled by the abuser, cutting the victim off from resources to escape. Taking away some of these financial barriers allows for victims to secure the services they need. All of our services are provided free of charge to anyone seeking help.

Financial support to Safe Harbor allows us to provide essential services to over 1,000 individuals each year.  A gift to our Annual Fund will help ensure that Safe Harbor remains available for all who seek our help.  All donations are tax deductible to the full extent allowable by law.

No gift is too small!!

If you prefer to send your donation via mail, please send your check to:

Planned Giving

Preparing an estate plan will provide you peace of mind knowing that your assets will be protected and distributed according to your wishes. You can leave a legacy that provides for both your loved ones and for causes you hold dear to your heart.

If Safe Harbor holds a special place in your heart, consider including us in your estate plans. You will be able to give a gift that reflects your values and serves as a lasting legacy.

Discussing your charitable intentions with us can lead to a much better result than going it alone – and will ensure that your gift is used just as you wish. For more information contact Executive Director Cathy Easter at 804-249-9470 x 131 or cathy@safeharborshelter.com.

Gifts of Securities

We are delighted that you want to make a gift of appreciated stock to Safe Harbor. A gift of stock provides significant benefits, including an immediate charitable deduction for the full market value of the stock and avoidance of capital gains taxes that would normally be due upon sale. To transfer stock to Safe Harbor please contact Cathy Easter, Executive Director, at 804-249-9470 ext. 131 or at cathy@safeharborshelter.com

We are so grateful for your gift and support of survivors of sexual and domestic violence and human trafficking.

Endowment

In June 2011, Safe Harbor was the recipient of a bequest from Mrs. Lora Robins, which was used to create an endowment for the agency. We are extremely grateful to Mrs. Robins, and the entire Robins family, for their generous support.

This transformational gift will ensure Safe Harbor’s existence for the foreseeable future and beyond, enabling us to continue to carry out our mission. A small portion of the endowment fund supports general operational costs each year. Gifts of cash, stock or planned gifts are accepted to support our endowment.

Making a gift to the Lora Robins Endowment Fund is an excellent way to support Safe Harbor’s mission for years to come.  To learn more, please call the Development Office at (804) 249-9470 x117.
