On behalf of Safe Harbor’s Board of Directors, we are pleased to share that Mary Maupai has been appointed Executive Director of Safe Harbor.
Many of you already know Mary through the relationships she built over the past decade. Since joining Safe Harbor in 2016 as Director of Development, she has worked alongside our staff, Board, volunteers, donors, and community partners to expand our impact and strengthen our ability to serve survivors throughout Central Virginia. Most recently, Mary successfully led the organization as Interim Executive Director.
Mary brings more than 25 years of nonprofit leadership experience and a deep understanding of Safe Harbor’s mission. During her time with the organization, she helped grow annual revenue from approximately $850,000 to more than $2.4 million, strengthened donor stewardship, expanded community partnerships, and helped position the organization for continued growth.
What makes Mary’s leadership especially meaningful is her personal connection to our mission. She understands firsthand the importance of having access to compassionate support and believes every survivor deserves the opportunity to find safety, healing, and hope.
