April is Sexual Assault Awareness Month! This year’s campaign focuses on healthy sexuality and youth. The National Sexual Violence Resource Center coordinates this annual campaign and provides resources to help start conversations about healthy sexuality and ways for communities to engage youth in preventing sexual violence.
It is estimated that 1 in 4 girls and 1 in 6 boys will experience a sexual assault before the age of 18 (click here for source). Young people experience heightened rates of sexual violence. We can change this. We have to change this.
Thank you for joining us in educating ourselves and our young people about sexual violence and healthy sexuality. Help us realize our vision that “All individuals are healthy, respected and secure in their relationships, communities and cultures… now, and for generations to come.”
