Safe Harbor receives $155,000 transformational grant from Junior League of Richmond
Grant Enables the Creation of a Multipurpose Building to Expand Services for Human Trafficking Survivors
Safe Harbor has received a generous grant from the Junior League of Richmond for $155,000. This partnership with the Junior League of Richmond supports Safe Harbor’s comprehensive recovery program for human trafficking survivors. The grant will be used to provide the supplies, furniture, technology, and appliances needed for a new multipurpose building. The new facility will include dedicated space for private counseling, classes and group activities, education and training space, and storage.
“Safe Harbor’s mission of supporting survivors of sexual and domestic violence and human trafficking is critically important for the greater Richmond community. The Junior League of Richmond is honored to provide a transformational grant to Safe Harbor, in addition to our existing volunteer support. The grant will enable Safe Harbor to build a new multi-purpose room, with yoga and meditation space, room for survivors to socialize and recover, and opportunities to build community and celebrate resilience. As an organization of women, the Junior League of Richmond proudly supports the work of Safe Harbor in helping to make the world safer, especially for women and girls,” said Jenn Keegan, President of the Junior League of Richmond.
The Junior League of Richmond will allow Safe Harbor to offer clients a new space to live, relax, and recharge. The bright welcoming building will be a safe place for clients to heal, dream, and spread their wings.
“We are so grateful for this generous financial commitment from the Junior League. Their support of human trafficking survivors is testament to their compassion and dedication to helping all women thrive,” shared Cathy Easter, Safe Harbor’s Executive Director.
