“How to be an Advocate” Brown Bag Lunch Panel 4/16

Got lunch plans on April 16? Join us from 12-1:30 pm to chat about advocating for survivors of sexual assault.

Vanessa’s trauma-informed counseling work is only one way she advocates for survivors of sexual assault.

Some of us are great volunteers when it comes to crisis situations, but providing hospital accompaniment and other direct services aren’t for everyone. So what if you want to help, but you aren’t sure what you can do if you’re not ready for the front lines?

The good news is, Safe Harbor and other sexual/domestic violence agencies need all kinds of help, not just working with survivors face-to-face. Vanessa Durrant, our Director of Counseling & Advocacy, will be speaking on the panel to share ways anyone can take action to advocate for survivors of violence. Representatives from the YWCA, the Virginia Anti-Violence Project and more will be there.

There’s so much more we all can do to spread awareness and prevent sexual assault, so why not find out how you can make a difference?

This event is free, but you can order lunch if you like. Click here to register and click here to join and share the Facebook event. See you there!
