Safe Harbor and SCAN Partner to Prevent Child Sexual Abuse

Safe Harbor is partnering with Greater Richmond SCAN to present the “Stewards of Children” training April 25, 2013. This evidence-based workshop has been proven to “increase knowledge, improve attitudes and change child-protective behaviors” related to child sexual abuse per the Stewards of Children website.

This training is being offered in April which is both Sexual Assault Awareness Month and Child Abuse Prevention Month. The workshop will be offered from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. on Thursday, April 25. Advance registration is required. Dinner will be served. Please contact Vanessa Durrant at vanessa@safeharborshelter.com or (804) 249-9470 X 13 to register.

This parnership is occuring during the annual Prevent-A-Thon held by Greater Richmond SCAN. During this week, Stewards of Children trainings are held throughout the Greater Richmond area to train as many community members as possible in this dynamic training opportunity. Trainings are offered free of charge (normally there is a fee associated with the training) during the Prevent-A-Thon.
