Hospital Accompaniment

Regional Hospital Accompaniment Response Team (RHART)

Through RHART, trained Safe Harbor staff and volunteers respond to area hospital emergency rooms to provide advocacy and support to individuals who have experienced domestic violence and/or sexual assault.

RHART is a regional collaborative between Safe Harbor, the YWCA of Richmond, Project Hope, and Hanover Safe Place.  Volunteers respond to hospital accompaniment requests 24/7 and connect survivors with community resources and follow-up services.

We provide these services to anyone regardless of race, gender, age, national origin, immigration status, gender identity or expression, faith, sexual orientation, disability, ethnicity, and geographic location.
