We are thrilled to announce this wonderful event raised over $700 to support Safe Harbor’s programs! Thank you to all who attended. A special “THANK YOU!” to our amazing chili cooks — Kevin Maddock and Di Hayes — for preparing Hot, Healthy Chili for the cook-off and to the volunteers who staffed the event!

Safe Harbor has been selected as a charity recipient for Unity of Richmond’s Wreaths of Wonder Silent Auction and Artaganza! This event will take place Saturday, November 23 9 am to 4 pm and Sunday, November 24 12:30 pm to 4 pm at Unity of Richmond (800 Blanton Avenue, Richmond, VA). A special preview sale and concert will take place Friday, November 22 at 7:30 pm featuring Alex Hodges and his Bluegrass Funk Band.

Wreaths (holiday-themed and others) and custom designs will be available for sale as will baked goods. There will be a Brunswick Stew Competition on Saturday of the event and a Chili Cook-Off on Sunday of the event (featuring Kevin Maddock and Di Hayes representing Safe Harbor). There is also a silent auction featuring many great prizes including a vacation home in Costa Rica! Proceeds will benefit Safe Harbor’s programs supporting those surviving sexual and domestic violence and promoting healthy relationships for all.
