January. An interesting and, at times, difficult month. The promise of a new year can bring great hope and promote change. Meanwhile, the anticipation and hustle of the holidays are replaced with colder, darker days. It can be a challenging time.

For those surviving violence, the end of the holidays can mean the end of a brokered peace. This can be an especially difficult time. It’s one where we often experience an increase in requests for help.

Each day in January, we will share an inspirational story, quote or idea on our Facebook page. We hope you find comfort and hope in these just as we do. New beginnings are always possible. We see them every day.

If you or someone you love is surviving domestic and/or sexual violence, we are here to help. We can be reached 24 hours a day at (804) 287-7877.
